Ellena Kontos Vranas received her undergraduate education at Purdue University in Indiana with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1986, she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University Dental School and completed her residency in General Practice at Hines Veterans Administrations Hospital in Maywood. After receiving her Fellowship in Hospital Dentistry from Northwestern University Dental School in 1990, she practiced dentistry with her father in Montgomery, Illinois until she joined Dr Horton in her St. Charles practice in 1993.

Dr Vranas resides in Naperville, Illinois with her husband and two girls. Dr Vranas and her family are very active in and enjoy dancing together with the Greek Apollo Dance Troupe.

Dr. Vranas is also a member of the Hellenic American Dental Society.
